The First Step Is A Consultation
How It Works
Initial Implant Placement
The first step in the dental implant process is the placement of a small titanium post into the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure.
Osseointegration and Healing
After the implant is placed, the jawbone needs time to heal and fuse with the implant, a process called osseointegration. Also, a temporary tooth replacement option may be provided.
Abutment Placement
Once osseointegration is complete, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. This will allow the replacement tooth or teeth to be securely attached to the implant.
Impression-taking
After the abutment is in place, impressions of the mouth are taken to create a custom-made replacement tooth or teeth.
Attachment of the Replacement Tooth/Teeth
Finally, the replacement tooth or teeth are attached to the implant securely using the abutment.
