Implants can be used in different ways depending on how many teeth are missing, the condition of the site and the restoration that needs support.
A single implant and crown replaces the tooth without touching the healthy teeth beside it — the closest thing to getting your natural tooth back.
An implant bridge can replace three or four teeth with as few as two implants, restoring chewing and preventing teeth from shifting.
Full-mouth implants and All-on-4® replace a whole arch with fixed or snap-on teeth — no more slipping dentures.

Why implants?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone. They provide a stable foundation for crowns, bridges or full-arch teeth — and they're the only replacement that also supports the bone.

Compare before you commit
Compared with other tooth replacement options, dental implants are designed to look and feel like natural teeth, help prevent bone loss and preserve the structure of your jaw. But they're one option — not the only one.
| Dental implant | Fixed bridge | Removable denture | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Support | Implant in the jawbone | Crowns on neighboring teeth | Gums (and clasps for partials) |
| Feels like | Most like a natural tooth | Natural, fixed | Removable, can move |
| Protects bone | Yes | No | No |
| Affects other teeth | No | Neighbors are reshaped | Clasps rest on teeth |
| Typical lifespan | Decades with care | 10–15+ years | 5–10 years, relines needed |

What to expect
Your exact sequence may differ, but every stage is explained before it happens. See the full process →
Review your health, the missing-tooth area, gum health, bite and the imaging needed to plan precisely.
A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone under local anesthesia — often with a temporary tooth.
Over a few months the bone fuses with the implant, creating a strong foundation.
A custom crown, bridge or full-arch restoration is attached and checked for comfort and bite.
Full-arch & full-mouth questions
People researching full-mouth implants encounter terms like All-on-4®, All-on-6, All-on-X, 3-on-6 and teeth in a day. They describe restorative concepts — they shouldn't replace a diagnosis.
A full arch of teeth supported by four (or more) strategically placed implants. The number and position should be chosen for your anatomy, not a package name.
Some full-arch restorations are fixed and removed only by the dentist; others snap on and off. Ask how each is cleaned and maintained.
In selected cases, implants and a temporary set of teeth can be placed the same day, with permanent teeth fitted after healing.

Patient reviews
Hands down the best dentist and dental office I have ever been to. I got my teeth worked on by Dr. Massaband — she is an absolute delight. Her work is top of the line. I have always been afraid of the dentist, but the way she worked on me I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort, which is so rare to find. She really makes sure you are 100% satisfied before you walk out of her office. Staff is super friendly and the office is in a great location.
Dr. Massaband was wonderful! I brought my mom to her in an emergency state. The doctor came in early on a Sunday, was very professional and detail oriented, took great care of my mom’s complicated procedure and even followed up multiple times a day during her recovery. Very grateful to have found her!
Dr. Massaband is the best dentist I have ever been to. She and her staff make you feel comfortable and cared for. So proficient, so professional — it’s the best work I have ever had done. I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist. Thank you, Doctor Massaband.

Frequently asked questions
Most adults with missing teeth who are in good general health and have enough jawbone are candidates. Gum health, medical history, smoking and the type of restoration all matter. A clinical exam and 3D imaging confirm suitability — see am I a candidate for implants?
Implant placement is done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn't feel pain during the procedure. Some discomfort and swelling afterward is normal and usually managed with over-the-counter medication.
Typically three to six months from placement to final teeth, because the bone needs time to fuse with the implant. Extractions or bone grafting can add time; immediate implants can shorten parts of the process.
In selected cases an implant or a temporary restoration can be placed the same day as the extraction. This can't be promised before an exam and imaging, and the final restoration still follows healing.
Bone grafting, socket preservation or angled implant techniques (as used in All-on-4®) can make implants possible for many patients who were told they weren't candidates.
With brushing, flossing and regular checkups, implants can last for decades — often a lifetime. The crown on top may eventually need replacing due to normal wear.
There's no single price for every case — a single implant, an implant bridge and a full-arch restoration involve different components. You'll receive a written, case-specific estimate. See implant cost & financing.
